All panels and no play...well, that's not the CEA way. We all need time to process what we learn at the heated poolside. Or enjoy an art-infused cocktail (or mocktail) at the lobby ArtBar. Sip and stroll through the Lobby Art exhibit, featuring the leading local works from the Center for Emerging and Visual Artists.
Anchoring the National Historical Park, INDEPENDENCE HALL is the site of the 2nd Continental Congress. Both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed here. Just across the street you can ring the LIBERTY BELL (well, not really) or visit the FRANKLIN INSTITUTE and ask yourself, "what good can I do this day?"
The MUTTER MUSEUM at the COLLEGE of PHYSICIANS of PHILADELPHIA is home to variety of medical and anatomical oddities. Inside the unassuming brick building with white stone columns you'll find some kinda gross stuff. Learn about the mysteries & beauty of the human body and remind yourself why it is that we all chose to study the humanities and not biology!
The PHILADELPHIA ZOO is the nation's first zoo. It is also home to Zoo360, a system of trails passing through treetops, crossing over pathways, & connecting habitats. The trails allow animals like big cats, primates, & meerkats the opportunity to travel & explore & observe. It begs the question: who's watching whom?
Gotta fly to the glorious PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART that houses one of the world's great collections. After touring the masterpieces on exhibit, splurge on a Japanese tea ceremony at the ceremonial teahouse. Experience how the contemplative ritual offers a respite from the complexities of daily life. And who doesn't need some respite these days?
