At CEA we encourage our members to play a part in the shaping of our association. Local affiliates are one opportunity to get involved. Another way to be a CEA influencer is by joining one of our many exciting committees.
CEA committees play an essential role in shaping the direction of the organization. The CEA constitution acknowledges the important role played by both standing and ad hoc committees and their members. ZOOM and other platforms have made committee meeting and membership far more convenient. Below are some of CEA's standing committees. Watch for more to be added!

Broaden your horizons and experience new cultures by participating in a study abroad program at CEA. We offer a variety of programs in countries all over the world.
Members: Linna DiDesidero, Lee Brewer Jones, Ani Mukhopadhyay, Gerald Siegel
This committee shall organize panels for the conference that focus on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, the committee supports the chair in identifying a speaker for the conference’s diversity event (a luncheon or reception in alternating years).

This committee considers ways to support CEA members who are graduate students and to recruit new graduate student members. Working with the program chair, the committee organizes panels and events that focus specifically on issues of concern to graduate students.

This committee is charged with the duty to develop plans for the growth of our CEA membership.

This committee shall organize panels for the conference that focus on issues of peace social justice. They also organize the annual Peace Breakfast at the CEA conference and participate in the selection of a recipient for the annual James R. (Dick) Bennett Award for Literature and Peace.

This committee shall work with the Executive Board and the editor's of the organization’s publications to define policies and support the editors in the production of those publications.

This committee shall organize panels for the conference that focus on women and gender. In addition, the committee supports the chair in identifying a speaker for the conference’s women's connection event (a luncheon or reception in alternating years).
